Woven on a modified 1950s Sakamoto shuttle loom with warp threads set under the lightest possible tension, the cloth reflects the craftsmanship and dedication of the Sanbi region.
Dyed using 100% pure indigo through traditional rope dyeing, the yarns are coloured on the surface while the core remains undyed. This “white in the middle” construction produces a striking ageing effect as the denim is worn. The shade faithfully reproduces the classic medium-dark blue that has been cherished since the 1950s. Finished as unsanforized denim with a one-wash process, it preserves the natural texture and character of cotton.
