The denim is a forties-era Japanese selvedge, woven by Collect Mills and replicated from 1940s vintage denim in both shade and construction. Like the originals, it is unsanforized. To eliminate guesswork around shrinkage, each garment has been pre-washed at the factory, removing all potential shrinkage and allowing you to buy your usual size with confidence. In its unwashed state the fabric weighs approximately 12 oz., increasing to 14 oz. after washing as the fibres contract and pack tighter together, giving the denim a firm, structured hand despite being one-washed.
